Light Night Leeds has received funding from Grants for the Arts, Arts Council England to support two Emerging Creative Producers to join the Light Night team.

 We are looking to

  • Offer two emerging producers/recent producer graduates the opportunity to train and gain experience, knowledge and skills, to develop and deliver individual programmes as part of the Light Night Leeds Festival

  • Provide practical experience which will lead to transferable skills for future activities and employment

Light Night Leeds

Is an annual free cultural festival open to the public aimed at people of all ages and demographics. Our aim is to support, promote and celebrate Leeds and its cultural programme.  The city is divided into 10 zones stretching from the South Bank through to the University quarter, from the train station to Quarry Hill. The festival brings together light projections, parades, exhibitions, film, dance, music, theatre and street performance. Our 2015 festival was attended by 60,000 people.

In 2016 we have extended the festival and aim to increase attendance to 80,000 through the combination of extending the festival to a two night extravaganza, with a wide variety of venues, diverse range of artforms including the return of our projection on Leeds Civic Hall, increased promotion through key sites such as Leeds train station concourse and by hosting the inaugural Light Up the North International Light Festival Symposium; looking at the impact of Light Festivals on cities across the world. We will present approximately 45 events in 35 venues / public spaces over 2 days.

As part of the opportunity each producer will programme and deliver an element of the festival as well as receive regular 1-2-1 mentoring sessions, masterclasses with festival artists and partners, workshops on areas such as marketing, technical management and fundraising
