2016 has been a tumultuous year. I would like to begin 2017 on a positive note with an outpouring of hope and love for humanity and the tiny blue dot we call home. Change begins on/in the margins.

"There are times when it seems as though not only the future but the present is dark: few recognize what a radically transformed world we live in, one that has been transformed not only by such nightmares as global warming and global capital, but by dreams of freedom and of justice — and transformed by things we could not have dreamed of… We need to hope for the realization of our own dreams, but also to recognize a world that will remain wilder than our imaginations." Rebecca Solnit - Hope in the Dark

3rd on 3rd Gallery is looking for works that respond with hope to the challenges our world, both the people and the planet, faces today. I am open to work in any format and on any subject which addresses this theme with hope. As Solnit points out, hope acts even in times of darkness and despair, by facing and addressing these realities. Hope is not happily ever after, or wishful thinking, but a willingness to believe in uncertainty and possibility.

Proposals for new and existing works are welcome until December 20th 2016. The curator will make every effort to review international proposals as soon as they are submitted to allow time for shiping if required. The exhibit will open with a public reception on January 20th and close on February 24th. More details can be found in the FAQ section.
