Join us for the inaugural Object Book Festival - a weekend of artist's books, zines and bookish art at the unique riverside village of Merton Abbey Mills in South West London, this bank holiday weekend 27th-28th August

Object Book is an accessible and alternative book arts studio in residency at Merton Abbey Mills, SW London. To celebrate our first year we thought we'd hold a Book Arts festival - because why not?

We've got some wonderful supporters and events already in place, and have secured a range of venues across the site and now just need YOU the stallholders to pull it all off. Book artists, artists's books, small publishers/presses, zinesters, crafters, collectives, colleges and I-found-this-book-down-the-back-of-my-sofa-and-i-think-it-might-actually-be-art are all welcome - if its book related we want you.

We are particularly excited to be working with the Chapter House of Merton Priory - the indoor archelogical ruins of an abbey, where many of our stalls will be uniquely based, others will be in bright empty ground floor units across Merton Abbey Mills - and we have market stalls at the outdoor market place for the adventerous. We are also working with The Colour House Theatre and Object Book studio - all venues are within a few minutes walk of one another with several resturants, pubs and craft galleries across the site.

We already have an exciting line up of performances, workshops and exhibitions lined up, but please feel free to propose interventions/events/screenings.

Merton Abbey Mills is a special site, with a rich craft heritage, namely as the site of William Morris' fabric works (and later Liberty's). We've heard there used to be a paper mill nearby too...

Object Book is run by bookish artist Chloe Spicer, and supported by the Wandle Studio Prize, awarded by University of the Arts London: Wimbledon College of Art and Merton Abbey Mills (we love you guys)

What kind of proposals are you looking for?
We are really looking for a wide range of bookish artists - from artists books, to zines to small publishers to things we haven't even thought of before. Some of our audience won't have heard of book arts before, and we want to show them the lot.
