CHANGING THE DISCOURSE **Open call for artists, writers and creators**

This month we are posing questions about discourse and whether art can change or influence the knowledge systems we are part of, influence and are influenced by. 

If we consider society from a structularistic perspective, then are we too bound intrinsically to the constructs to break free? 

Yet even Michel Foucault who's philosphy of society and how its is structured, offered the suggestion that disontinutity or rebellion can alter the discourse. "At certain moments, and in certain orders of knowledge , there are these sudden take-offs, these hastenings" (Foucault interviewed by Rainbow, 1984). 

Can art be the hastening?

If your creative work is altering the discourse in some form then we would love to see your work and understand  how and what is the context that your work sits within.

We are media-inclusive so please submit whatever form works for you.

We can accept films on YouTube and Vimeo.

Your submission should be an exploration and response to this theme only.

You will need to submit:

1) A good quality image of your work  - up to three images (please do not send us thumbnail images).

2) Three/four lines of text to explain  why you made the piece and the social context.

3) Your Instagram name so we can tag you.

WRITERS - Submit your ideas and writing only via a WORD document - include any images you wish along with it.

ARTISTS - If you have an idea for a theme for the Zine and want to submit a proposal to be our featured artist, then get in touch.

Your work will not be accepted if you do not provide the requested items.

If accepted your work will be featured in the Zine, Instagram and FB for a least one month, and very likely for several.

We do not guarantee to keep your work listed after the issue has ended.

We accept one submission per artist, but you can submit multiple pieces as separate submissions.
