Greenbelt is a festival that is engaged with culture, inspired by the arts and sustained by faith; we aspire to be an open, generous community. This year the festival will be held over the bank holiday weekend (August 26th-29th) at Boughton House, three miles north-east of Kettering. Previous exhibitors in the visual arts programme at Greenbelt include Billy Childish, Anthony Green, Simone Lia, Bobby Baker and Willie Williams. Each year the festival adopts a theme, and this time it's ‘Silent Stars’. You can find out more about the event here - www.greenbelt.org.uk

The Allotment Gallery is back and Greenbelt's Visual Arts Team are looking for artists and creators to exhibit in The Allotment Gallery, our garden shed.

It's 2.4 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and 1.9 metres high at apex  (72" by 95" by 78") It has a door on the short side and a window on one long side.

It'll be placed in the woodland and we’re looking for around 8 artists to each exhibit for 3-4 hour periods throughout the weekend. The 3-4 hour period includes set up and take down.

More details:

Exhibitors will be expected to respect the shed and the artist coming after them. Exhibitors are responsible for their work and the invigilation of their work

Fixtures and fittings will be limited because of the delicate fabric of the building and you need to bear this in mind with your submission.

There will be a picture rail installed for hanging framed works.

Exhibitors will need to have their own public liability insurance (available with Artist’s Newsletter membership).

If you would be interested in submitting please click the 'Make a Submission' tab above to apply. Please fill in both forms ('Artist Information' and 'Exhibition Proposal') although you only need to add images to one form.

There is no electricity or power supply to the shed so digital artworks will need to be battery powered.

Lighting will be available in the form small battery powered lights for evening exhibitors.

The exhibition can make use of the space immediately outside of the shed but artists are responsible for considering the implications of the weather for their art work.

Deadline for submission: midnight  31st May 2016You will be notified by Mid June and allotted a provisional time slot (on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday) for your exhibition.

Artists will be provided with a weekend ticket for themselves for the festival but travel and other expenses are not included.
