Artists are invited to submit work that explore the diverse strands we spin in our lives. The threads that connects us through our experiences, humanity, gender, friendship and relationship; across the division of country, culture, language, religion and much more. To explore the rich tapestry woven from the myriad experiences of our individual lives.

Venue:  Espacio Gallery, 159 Bethnal Green Rd, London, E2 DG

 

Percentage of commission on all sales will be donated to a charity in support of women (to be determined before exhibition).

Open for submission: 7 May 2016
Submission Deadline: 30 November 2016
Selection Notification: 21  December 2016
Submission Fee: £45 1-4 pieces of work, 1 or 2 pieces will be chosen.

Conditions to proposed artwork

  • Works cannot be larger than 100 x 100 cm including frame and must not be smaller than 40 x 40 cm along the longest dimension.
  • Textile and installation submissions accepted.
  • If selected, all work must be received in exhibition ready condition. All work must be stretched and framed.
  • D-rings attached in the back for hanging, please do not attached any strings or wire to your work.

Selection process

A Selection Committee will review all submissions and select works for the exhibition.

Note that you can make submit between 1 and 4 pieces of work with each submission fee.

Terms and Conditions

  • There are no restrictions based on age, training or nationality.
  • Can submit up to 4 different artworks, of any medium from paintings, photography, mosaic, mixed media, and textile. If selected, one will be chosen for exhibition.
  • Works cannot be larger than 100 x 100 cm including frame and must not be smaller than 40 x 40 cm along the longest dimension.
  • If selected, all work must be received in exhibition ready condition, all canvas work must be stretched and photographs framed, D-rings attached in the back for hanging.
  • Works received without D-rings, and unframed will not be exhibited.
  • Must be the owner and the work(s) submitted are of their own origination. The Artist must hold all moral and intellectual property rights.
  • The organisers or gallery will not be liable for any loss or damage to any artworks physically submitted at any point.
  • We recommend that the Artist insure their artwork, especially in transit and while being exhibited
  • Artist accept that all work submitted will be available for sale in the exhibition(s) and on our website until the end of the period, the artwork is collected.
  • There is a 20% commission on all sales
  • The organiser will take payment from the buyer of the artwork and, once payment is received, will pay the artist minus the 20% commission on total sale price.
  • All Artists agree that we may reproduce their work, only in association with the exhibition (including press/publicity/website and catalogue and any other printed or digital material, advertising the exhibitions).
  • Artists who are UK based and are resident of the EU are welcome to submit work.  You have a responsibility to register and account for UK VAT with H.M. Revenue & Customs if your work is sold at the exhibition

  • Artists without a UK residence (known as 'NETPs' - non-established taxable persons) can find further details on 'NETP' status and how to register for VAT at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk, (Notice 700/1) under the heading 'Should I be registered for VAT?' 

  • Artists submitting work from any countries outside UK and EU must be registered before submitting your work online.

  • All artworks must be collected by the Artist on 12 March 2017
  • Please note that we do not offer refunds for entries.

Special Event: International Women's Day - 8 March 2017 2 - 5pm
