CuratorSpace and the ArtHouse

Morticia

Morticia is an artist and researcher whose work is inspired by Victorian mourning culture, Hammer Horror and Elizabeth Gaskell. Her artwork often begins with a photographic image and includes, where possible, site specific materials. She is currently studying for a practice based PhD at Huddersfield University and working on a solo show to be held at Kapow Coffee as part of the Love Arts Festival in October 2018.

She will discuss her PhD research which focuses on uncovering the hidden history of women buried in St George’s Field. She will also be collecting responses to the question "What does the word Victorian mean to you?"
