Jack Vinten. United Kingdom
Jack is a neurodiverse artist from the UK. He spent two years living in the Middle East, Jordan. as well as nearly a decade in Paris. Originally from London he has now settled in Sheffield in the north of England.
Jack’s work focuses largely on both figurative and portrait painting and he takes a very original approach to both of these subjects. His work has an emotional as well as a structural impact and there is an immediacy to his work with a strong use of colour and line work. His interest lies in the way the brain and the emotions intertwine and perceive another person or our own image and with each work he feel he is painting both the subject as well as himself. He feels that his own neurodiversity has a strong influences on his visual understanding and the way a form is expressed within his own memory or sense of a person.
His work attempts to reflect the emotional relationships between himself and the subjects and attempts to break down an image or a memory to create a starker more truthful and sometimes perhaps more shocking representation of a person. His work takes influences from both cubism and Impressionism but lies in neither camp.
He is currently working with a small contemporary gallery and is represented internationally.
