One time garden designer, Chelsea Flower Show exhibitor, Travel And Events Business, so international horticultural, geological and wildlife influences. Mixed Media COLOURIST Painter & Printmaker with Collage and texture. Favourite influences, Raoul Dufy, August Macke and all Fauves, Ravilious, Mary Fedden, Patrick Caulfield, Barbara Rae and I prefer Braque to Picasso for cubism

Colour, texture and shape are my starting points. I am rubbish at conventional large landscapes and perspective, and unless guaranteed privacy, dont like plein air painting. I like noticing small details in the subjects I paint in order to give them unique character. I have to work hard at not «over#gilding the lily » in my work as I love indirect markmaking and find it difficult to leave large still areas, but usually get there in the End with a bit of professional criticism. I enjoy experimenting with Monoprinting and various Printmaking opportunités of a non-rigide nature. I often start a piece of work on a « failed » print. Some pieces of work take five years to complete. Light is very important to give a piece of artwork its uplift and joy
