Sue Mann North Yorkshire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Artist, York. Installations and works on paper inspired by architecture.

Sue makes work in response to architecture. Taking time to experience architecture through the senses, she explores hidden, forgotten or reimagined aspects through drawing. Focusing on architectural features, Sue seeks to uncover what the sensory experiences of drawing and architecture may reveal about a place or time.

Recent projects employ a repetitive drawing approach, working with the duality of reception and response. Inspired by architectural features such as light and shadow, recent works comprise drawings on translucent paper that are activated by light in the space.

Sue invites opportunities to make work in response to architectural spaces. By sharing her process or work, she can offer new ways of noticing, understanding or experiencing a place. Sue works with drawing to examine and communicate her responses but also to share drawing's universal capacity to make connections.
