Clare Haxby

Clare was born in Yorkshire in England and has called London and Singapore home since graduating from Kingston upon Thames University. Clare trained in Fine Art Painting and Printmaking and her research and inspiration comes from travelling, architecture and nature. Her colourful and collectable style involves painting drawing and creating design for textiles. Clare loves travelling with a camera and sketchbook collecting information and inspiration from her love of new places. Her series of paintings include architecture of Singapore and London, Botanicals and Life Drawings. Clare uses monoprint and linocut techniques incorporated into her mixed media paintings picking out seductive details with this intuitive balance of colour and line I love painting, textiles and travel. I am drawn to the decorative elements in what I am drawing and seek to focus on these in my paintings. I love to create large fine art paintings and smaller works on paper which I can translate into a fabric design. I love playing with that variety of painting on large and small scale and making my artwork accessible with my Limited Edition Prints. Clare has exhibited in Singapore, South America and Europe and recent private collectors in Dubai, New Zealand and Costa Rica.
