Clarke Avery West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Clarke studied archaeological sciences and is fascinated with the past, a time when nature would have been awe inspiring and terrifying in equal measure. Viking ships sailing through frozen landscapes, small 19th century boats caught in a storm, the Morrigan from celtic mythology and many other visions from the past can be found in the artist's work.

Clarke is a full time working artist with an experimental approach to painting. Expressive brushstrokes, strong colours and drips suggest subjects ranging from imaginary seascapes and turbulent seas to political metaphors and the quantum world.
