‘’As an artist it would be fair to say that my work takes over my life, yet I wouldn’t have it any other way’’. Intrigued and inspired by my surroundings, Bursting with colour and boldness its sculptural and poetic form can take on many a diverse range.

Abstract, experimental and potentially dysfunctional, Lou uses an array of entangled processes such as assemblage and collage, painting, welding, mixed media, photography, sculpture, Jewellery design and super 8 film.

Originally trained as a silversmith, more recently Lou has explored mixed media, collage and Arte Povera. Building her skills and progressing more into Sculptural form.

Lou works from her studio in Pepper Arden and her Studio and Gallery space in Richmond North Yorkshire where she teaches silversmithing and curates collaborative and solo exhibititons. Lou has exhibited her Jewellery and mixed media work both nationally and internationally.

Primarily studying Art at Cleveland College of Art and Design Lou went on to train as an Art Tutor and Curator at Sunderland and is currently studying towards a Masters degree in Fine Art at Teesside University.

Her recent projects have involved working with East Street Arts and Skipkko in Leeds.
