"There's traditionally been a large disconnection in contemporary art between the viewer and the artist. Generally, audiences are looking towards what they like, and I can tell you, that's the last thing on my mind".

GOYA is a noun in Urdu - A transporting suspension of disbelief- An "as-if" that feels like reality. Any artist who has ever painted and allowed themselves to become part of an other life, world, time, and place will understand it well. I'm sure there is an English word for the sadness you feel when the painting ends and you realize you're 'back in the real world' and you never really left.
