    Hello! I'm a queer, neurodivergent and emotionally driven illustrator with a personal awareness of the social impacts of disability and mental illness. I try to address discrimination, stigmatisation and ignorance in my work, in a way that is tolerable. I've personally suffered from a lifetime of mental illness and ADHD, which is translated directly into my art.

    I am a contemporary artist from South Africa with a Master of arts in Fine Arts and Bachelor is Psychology. I love to experiment with mediums and often combine mediums creating works in ink and then digitally manipulating them or creating collages and then reworking them in oil paint. I also work on mixed media and watercolour and love visual journaling.

    With a background in psychiatry and Christian theology, my work has developed into, what has been called ‘abstract poetics’. Drawings have an immediate abstract presentation but often reveal figurative elements, symbols and allusions to physical and spiritual realities.

    I am a graphic designer and a visual artist. I work mostly in oil on canvas but work sometimes with acrylic and water colour. Most of my recent paintings were influenced political and social upheaval of our world today and the works of the Renaissance artists. I do not like artworks to be just for decoration but to evoke feelings.

    I was born and raised in County Durham and began a Fine Art Degree later in life after a professional career in mental health.
