Jasmine Matthews West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

I am a multimedia artist who graduated from a BA Fine Art at Newcastle University, 2017. Currently, I am located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I'm hoping to forge connections with art scenes in the surrounding areas. I have taught art classes, been involved in conducting art therapy with adults, and I have been involved with cross-principal exhibitions including medicine and engineering.

Jasmine Matthews is a multimedia artist who describes her work as science fiction. Time and the fabric of existence are toyed with and rearranged through experimental processes which utilise collections of found matter- often debris or refuse. She intertwines social concerns with nihilistic humour, trying to break down typicality of modern culture into something revealingly absurd. She has recently exhibited digital images throughout Newcastle as a part of scientific arts initiatives Valence and Connecting Principles, to showcase an interpretation of human identity within medical data systems. Currently located in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, she is branching out to forge a wider circle of connections across both Northumberland and Yorkshire.
