I am inspired by everyday observation and experience, with a twist of imagination. I utilise a variety of materials in 2D and 3D - I paint, draw, photograph, work digitally, use paper pulp and incorporate textile. Recently I have spent time learning green wood skills, which I am now incorporating into my work. I live in the city but enjoy outdoor spaces in natures' seasons.

In Sheffield we are fortunate to have easy access to parks, woodland and the Peak District, therefore even though I am a city dweller I have plenty of opportunity to spend time out in nature. Walking is part of my process, I enjoy noticing the seasons change, the sights, sounds and smells. Observation is important to me, but also the settling of those observations, the connections they make with other thoughts, and the way they interact with my dreams and visualisations.

For a number of years I have been involved in leading workshops, particularly in drawing for wellbeing and creativity for wellbeing. My workshops began as a result of my own experience of the positive impact which art can have - in particular, observational art which involves using the senses - not just relying on vision.
