Pippa Eason Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
  Back to profiles

Manchester based contemporary artist & tutor, working at DMZ studios, Wellington House. Working in mainly sculpture, with interdisciplinary practice.

Pippa Eason (b.1993), is a contemporary artist, based in Manchester. Eason’s work makes observations of performative sculptural gesture through the use of interdisciplinary materials. Her practice co-opts the crispness of Instagram, but with a hand-crafted touch, used to hint at status anxiety, smartphone addiction, and acknowledgement of aesthetics from her early memory. Her sculpture is ambiguous, though aims to pick up on - and visually start to unpick - trends in art, fashion and pop culture, mapping the direct impact aesthetic shifts in contemporary culture have on visual artists. She makes work to inhabit a space, to twist and curl around it playfully. Serious play is intrinsic to Eason’s practice.

    Funny Blurry and Everything Hazy

      PINK Manchester  |    Exhibition  |    17/09/2021 to 03/10/2021

Our memories are often intangible, abstracted combinations of objects, relationships and moments in time. We celebrate, reminisce and mourn for what they were or what they could have been. Funny, blurry and everything hazy is a solo exhibition of new works by artist Pippa Eason at PINK, Manchester, in which she combines her own childhood memories with stories collected from other people.
