Fronteer Gallery are looking for abstract artworks for a three week exhibition in September and October 2021.

Fronteer Gallery are looking for abstract artworks to form a group show in September and October. Work can be in any medium, 2-D or sculptural (except audio or video).

If government restrictions allow we will hold a private view evening on Saturday 2nd October.

UK based artists are invited to submit ONE piece of work along with 150 words about the work, which will be displayed alongside your work. It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £25.

The exhibition will run for 3 weeks, from 29th September – 16th October.

The gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday. Opening times are Wednesday – Fridays 10-3, Saturdays 2-7.

The submission deadline is 4th August. Successful artists will be contacted by 11th August.

Successful artists will be contacted and asked to confirm if they would like to take part in the exhibition.

Successful artists must deliver work in person during gallery opening hours, any day before (and including) 2nd September. The gallery will be closed to the public between 4th – 17th September.

If you would like to send your work by post, please note that it can only be sent using Royal Mail. Due to Coronavirus restrictions only Royal Mail delivery personnel have access to the building where the post will be sent to and we are not sure when this will change. Parcels larger than a Royal Mail medium parcel will need to be delivered in person. Please note that the postal address is not the same as the gallery address. All work sent by post must be received by 23rd September at the latest.

If you have any issues with these dates please contact us before applying.

Successful artists should pay their £25 fee by 1st September 2021.

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 5% to cover admin costs.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

How to Submit

Artists are invited to submit ONE piece of work.

Work can be 2D or 3D, though unfortunately we cannot accept video or audio works. Works which require hanging must be ready to hang with mirror plates or picture wire already attached.

The wall text will be taken from the 150 words given in your submissions and cannot be changed from what is given in your submission.

Please submit up to 3 images of your work, one image showing the finished piece of work, including the frame if the work is framed, and two further images to show detail if needed.

Work should be collected from the gallery during gallery opening hours from 20th October onwards. If you would like your work returning to you by post please be aware that we charge a small handling fee on top of the price of postage. If work is small enough you are welcome to include a stamped addressed envelope for return postage which will incur no further charge.

All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

Thank you and good luck!

Michael and Sharon (The Fronteer Team)
