All That Matter
Deadline: 25/02/2019Venue: REDWING GALLERY | City: Penzance, Cornwall | Region: Cornwall and Isles of Scilly | Country: United Kingdom | Francesca Busca
All That Matter, and so many ways to use it! In this exhibition, we are looking at how matter can be used in mosaic to represent what really matters to you: whether figurative or abstract, conceptual or concrete, as big as the Universe or as small as a bee, we would like to see it all - and show "All That Matters" to you.
This is an exclusive opportunity for BAMM members (ONLY) to exhibit their artwork.
As BAMM is turning 20, we thought we would focus on its main purpose: to encourage an interest in all aspects of modern mosaic. This is why we would like to reiterate that this opportunity is meant for both professional and amateurs. So please, do not be afraid to participate just because you are not a professional: we welcome all submissions from all members, regardless of your skill level. We believe that there is no better way to open the world of mosaic to the public than to show them how varied this art can be, and how it can entice people at all levels. Our aim is to include as many submissions as possible (if not indeed all of them) and, should we receive too many, we will select them to include artwork at all levels.
The participation fee is £20 per artwork submitted, max. 3 pieces per artist. Payments should be made through Paypal to subs@bamm.org.uk or by BACS to BAMM's Natwest account (Sort code: 60-08-06, Account number: 80393306). Please note that payment should be made before submission, as the reference number will be asked for in the submission form. Please use the reference “Redwing” in your payments.
The Key dates are as follows:
Submission opens: 26th October 2018
Submission deadline: 25th February 2019
Selection results: 1st March 2019 (applicants will be notified via Curatorspace)

A few practical notes:
- There is no chronological requirement for your piece: it could be as old as you (almost)!
- There will be a size limit on width: max 50cm
- The gallery’s hanging system provides for masonry nails in the two granite walls, and wood nails or screws in the plywood walls. Therefore, the artist must ensure that all 2D artwork is ready for hanging with a central D-ring at the back (or 2 D-rings with a wire across).
- The artist is responsible for ensuring that works are delivered on time, either in person or by post/courier.
- The gallery will handle the returns, but the artist must provide re-usable packaging and a pre-paid return label.
- All artists will have the opportunity to offer their works for sale during the exhibition. The gallery will take a commission of ONE THIRD of the price: please factor this in the price. BAMM will NOT take any additional commission.
- The venue will be staffed during opening hours. However, neither BAMM nor the gallery are responsible for any loss or damage to artwork and artists are advised to insure their own artwork, should they wish to do so.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us through this site.
We look forward to receiving your work!
