ArtWaves Festival Installation Open Call
Deadline: 22/07/2022Venue: Bridlington Spa | City: Bridlington | Region: East Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Lauren Frost
Paid opportunity
ArtWaves Festival is returning to Bridlington Spa on the 5th and 6th November 2022 following the digital switch made during the pandemic. Working in partnership with the Visual Arts Uplift, ArtWaves will commission 5 installations to come to the event, ranging in artistic skill level with commissions of £2500, £1000 and £500. These artworks should be fun and playful to engage and excite our audience, do you have something that ticks that box? Please read the following information and complete the form to express an interest in an installation for ArtWaves 2022.
The ArtWaves team is looking for a small series of installations that are fun, vibrant, playful and exciting.
That is as far as the brief goes, we don't want to stifle creativity nor restrict weird and wonderful ideas coming to the event.
A few things to note:
The event is being held at Bridlington Spa, South Marine Drive, Bridlington on from 10.30am - 4.00pm, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November 2022.
Artwork can be installed on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November. Works must be operational by the end of Friday 4th November for opening on Saturday 5th.
The event is held in daylight hours however, if you submit a light based installation we can look at creating a suitable space to house your piece.
Your work must be safely constructed for displaying to the public.
There are a multitude of spaces available for works though if you wish to discuss specific requirements please let us know so we can guide you through possibilities.
Please be realistic with your submission, in terms of feasibility of creating the piece. Make sure that you have thought about cost implications and the practicality of making your piece work logistically. The ArtWaves team are happy to talk through things and guide you if needed, just send us a message.
You must be aware that this is a festival for all, from families to elderly attendees and therefore although we encourage entries of a diverse nature we must be sensitive to this fact. Please ensure that your piece is suitable for all audiences.
We have three levels of commission rates for the installations, £2500, £1000 and £500. When completing the application please state the relevant amount.
