This is an open call for art and poetry based around the theme, the internalisation of shame. The exhibition will take place in Cork, Ireland. In co-operation with TACTIC, Catriona Osborne will be curating this exhibition, which will take place during September 2019. Deadline for submissions is May 6th.

We are looking for work around the theme of unnecessary and uncalled for shame. The stigma of shame is an universal feeling and can be unearthed by the most innocent of actions and thoughts. The internalsation of shame is thought to be caused by undue blame or mockery in early life that can result in self-reproach later on. We want to create a visual language to encourage necessary disscussion around this topic.

We are looking for a range of works, from installation to written word, from film to drawing.

Along with the darker themes we will also accept works of hope, a way out of regret and remorse.

The exhibition will take place during September 2019.

TACTIC Cork is kindly supported by Cork City Arts Office and the Arts Council of Ireland.
