Crafted By Hand welcomes applicants for their summer & winter events held in Masham (Wensleydale), with their one day event on Sunday 30th June 2019 & their two-day event on 2 – 3rd November 2019. Crafted by Hand aims to attract independent artists, makers and designers. We are looking for work that is of gallery quality, contemporary and interesting. A mix of disciplines, activities and items differentiate this event from others.

Crafted By Hand is an event where you can find fresh, contemporary, craft and design that's being chosen for its quality & originality. No made-it-from-a-craft-kit assembly jobs, no peach coloured crocheted toilet roll holders.

We are looking for work that is of gallery quality, contemporary and interesting. A mix of disciplines, activities and items differentiate this event from others. We are also looking for artists/craftspeople who may be interested in putting on something unusual - an installation in the entrance hall perhaps? Some performance art outside? Something that will surprise and intrigue visitors.

By Hand Events is run by Josie Beszant and Charlotte Morrison. The events are sponsored by Masham Gallery. Josie is an artist and owns Masham Gallery, Charlotte is a ceramicist. They have a passion for handmade contemporary art and craft, and really enjoy organising this event. They both have extensive experience of organising and promoting successful festivals, exhibitions and events.

Masham is a small market town in the south of Wensleydale - a very creative place with a wealth of galleries, independent artists and craftspeople. It has a strong events programme throughout the year with an established audience of both locals and visitors. Visitor numbers have reached between 1000 &1300 for their one day & two day events & the vast majority of stall holders reporting excellent sales figures. Table stands are priced at £50 (summer one day) £95 (winter two day) & boarded lit stands with hanging facilities at £75 (summer one day) £145 (winter two day). Demonstration stands (with room for selling) are free in exchange for 10% of your total takings (up to £50 in summer & £95 in winter).

At each of this years events, we are looking to have stands allocated to invited showcase makers & artists. These will be individuals who show exceptional skill in their chosen craft.
