Art Number 23, is a London-based Gallery, located at the Old Biscuit Factory. We are mainly responsible for curating art exhibitions inside the U.K. and overseas. The aim is to create opportunities in order to encourage and support artists from all over the world to exhibit and promote their work.

We would like to invite you all to submit your applications for our upcoming competition 'Genesis' at the Old Biscuit Factory, and get the chance to win £1000 and free exhibitions!

'Genesis' will be a live painting/drawing event (with music and drinks), where we will invite artists to produce a work of art in front of a live audience! The event will take place on Friday 5th April 2019 and it will be open to the public (admission free). All artists will produce an artwork on the day and the audience will vote for the three winners.

The artists will have one hour (from 6.30pm until 7.30pm) to finish their projects. After 7.30pm all the artworks will be hang on the walls in the gallery and the audience will get the chance to have a look at them and vote the one that they prefer the most. The three artworks that will get the most votes will define the winners and their position (1st, 2nd or 3rd place).

Prizes:

1st - £1000 prize.

2nd - Participation in one of our future shows with three meters of wall space, free of charge.

3rd - Participation in one of our future shows with two meters wall space, free of charge.

This event is being organised by artists for artists and we want to make sure that everybody will make something out of it! Therefore, apart from the three big winners, everyone will get the chance to promote their work to a large audience at the event, and also through our mailing list, social media, and catalogues.

We will also provide professional documentation (photographs and videos) of all the artworks in the space, all the artworks will be exhibited in the gallery for two more days (Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April) after the main event, and we will take interviews of some of the participants.

Theme:

The theme of the show is open, meaning that each artist can produce an artwork of their own choice (portrait, landscape, empty space etc). You are more than welcome to have in mind the artwork that you will work on - and even practice until the main event day. There will be no restrictions regarding the medium either; all artists can use oils, acrylics, charcoal, pastels and whatever materials they prefer.
