The Fish Factory Art Space CIC is offering a rolling programme of 2-4 week residencies at it's venue in Penryn, Cornwall.

Opened in 2011, and moving to its currently location in 2017,  the Fish Factory  has  provided a forum for both Cornish emerging artists and international collaborators working in challenging and diverse mediums from interactive installations, to murals, to photomontage, printmaking, music and film. We are  looking for artists that want to engage with our lively and varied programme of contemporary, alternative and innovative visual arts, performance and events.

Fish Factory Art Space inhabits a former sail loft in Penryn, Cornwall, South West England. It houses studios, a small event space/independant gallery, a dark room, small photo studio, a vegan cafe and a shop selling books, comics, zines, prints and more.

The diversity of offerings at the Fish have one thing in common: they flourish in the open and welcoming atmosphere the Fish Factory offers. We are a  definite alternative to the corporate mainstream face of modern art today.

We provide you with a desk space in our open plan co-work space, as well access to our b/w darkroom and photography studio by arangement.

In addition you can take advantage of our vegan cafe (20% discount), small shop and our acoustic recording studio (by arrangement).

You will have the option of holding a public event and exhibition, but this is not essential as we see this residency as more a way for you to develop a project, network and a chance to experience the Cornish art scene.

We also offer a live/work studio space which provides accommodation at our new 'Baby Fish' studios, just down the road from our main building. Please note this accommodation is up one flight of stairs and is limited in availability.

Residency costs without accommodation:

£250 for 2 weeks

£400 for 4 weeks

Residency costs with accommodation:

£375 for 2 weeks

£600 for 4 weeks

You will be required to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit on acceptance of your place.

Please specify dates you would like to attend in your application and if you would like to hold an exhibition- this helps with our gallery programming.
