LOCKDOWN: FREE CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!

During this time of uncertainty we have seen many art venues and opportunities having to suspend and cancel. Fronteer want to offer artists an outlet for their creativity and hopefully focus minds on more positive things. We are looking for images of work made during self isolation which will be uploaded to an online “gallery” on Instagram under the name @fronteerlockdown. Work should be square or be able to be cropped to a square shape to fit on Instagram neatly.

Work can be on any theme but we ask that it is not offensive, inflammatory or inappropriate. As long as work is deemed appropriate all submissions will be added to the online gallery.

We hope to build an exciting online documentation of the time artists spent in isolation.

The deadline for sending images to us is Sunday 12th April. If a submission comes in, we will inform the artist that it has been received, and that we will be in touch at a later date to inform that their image has been added to the Instagram gallery page. If an artist wants to include more than one image, then we ask that they submit one image per week.

Please send a good quality image, along with your name, the title of the work, medium, size, and your Instagram handle (if you have one).

We hope to transform the online exhibition into a real life exhibition at a later date when venues reopen, and we may invite some artists to take part.  At this point these plans are speculative and we will be able to give more details of any plans when the country begins to get back to normal.

Please Be Aware

If your work is not square and needs to be cropped it may lose the edges.

Fronteer organisers will have the final say on whether work is deemed to be offensive, inflammatory or inappropriate and it will not be included in the exhibition.

You need to send the details requested along with your image to have your work included.

1 submission per artist per week please. If you submit too many images you may be excluded from the online exhibition.

There is no size limit to the work you make, but size restrictions may apply if a real life exhibition is planned at a later date.

Work will not be offered for sale through the online gallery, although potential buyers will be able to contact you if you provide a Instagram handle.
