‘148 Mayall Road’ is offered as a free space to artists and curators who are interested in working with the broad theme of display in a site-specific context. We are particularly interested in proposals that address issues around archiving and the museum.
We encourage applicants to engage directly, on both a physical and thematic level, with the display cabinets. However, as we are eager to stimulate discussion and debate around the above themes, these criteria are open to interpretation.
Each project will be supported through open dialog and practical advice from the ‘148’ curators, and will culminate in a private view followed by a public exhibition for up to two weeks. Access to the exhibitions will be by appointment only - this excludes the private view.
Schedule
Week One – Meeting with the 148 curators and installation
Week Two – Private view/open to the public
Week Three – Open to the public
Week Four – Deinstall
