Buddhism Through Photography
Deadline: 08/12/2022 | Published: 25/06/2022 | Country: United Kingdom | Adam Holman
Photography that involves 'Buddhism' in any way, by medium or subject, is eligible for this project. Buddhism teaches us that 'presence' is the key. The people who make up today’s thriving photographic community are our eyes to the world. Whether established artists or passionate emerging voices, they inform us, they inspire us, they amaze us, they put our world in the broader context.
We welcome friends from all over the world to connect with us. Submissions may be from Buddhists or non-Buddhists, professional or non-professional photographers.
Participation calls for personal interpretations of 'Daily Buddhism' in the form of photography. We are curating interesting images that document everyday life within the sphere of Buddhism. We would like to include over 300 different photographers, worldwide, within the book. In other words, images that are deemed 'Buddhist' by its creator. This will mean different things for different people, it does not have to depict obvious content and we encourage unique work.
Digital format or film may be submitted.
Each photographer may submit up to five works but not all may be accepted. There are no submission fees or fees paid for accepted photography.
The organisers reserve all rights to decide if any works would be included.
These images will be featured in an upcoming published coffee table book called 'Everyday Buddhism'.
