Fronteer Gallery are looking for Miniature artworks for a two week exhibition in October 2021. Miniature paintings, sculptures, work in a matchbox; whatever your miniature work we would love to hear from you.

Fronteer Gallery are looking for miniature artworks to form a group show in October. Work can be in any medium, 2-D or sculptural (except audio or video). We are looking for work which responds to the theme of miniatures, which can be interpreted however you like. Works should be no bigger than 20cm and must be lightweight as they will be attached to the walls using Command Strips.

If government restrictions allow, we will hold a private view evening on Saturday 2nd October.

It is free to submit work, with only successful artists paying a £15 fee.

UK based artists are invited to submit 1 piece of work along with 150 words about the work, which will NOT be displayed alongside your work.

The exhibition will run for just over 2 weeks, from 2nd – 16th October and will be downstairs in the gallery, so unfortunately there will be no disabled access.

The gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday. Opening times are Wednesday – Fridays 10am - 3pm, Saturdays 2pm - 7pm.

Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit ONE piece of work each. It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £15.

The submission deadline is 23rd August. Successful artists will be contacted by 3rd September.

Successful artists will be contacted and asked to confirm if they would like to take part in the exhibition.

Successful artists should send their work by post. Please note that it can only be sent using Royal Mail. Due to Coronavirus restrictions only Royal Mail delivery personnel have access to the building where the post will be sent to. Please note that the postal address is not the same as the gallery address. All work sent by post must be received by 23rd September at the latest.

Artists may also deliver work in person during gallery opening hours between 22nd – 25th September. The gallery will be closed to the public between 4th – 21st September.

If you have any issues with these dates please contact us before applying.

Successful artists should pay their £15 fee by 24th September 2021.

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 5% to cover admin costs.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

How to Submit

Artists are invited to submit ONE piece of work.

Work can be 2D or 3D, though unfortunately we cannot accept video or audio works. Works can be framed but must be light weight as they will be hung using Command Strips.

Work should be no bigger than 20cm across any size, which includes any frames and mounts.

All wall text information relating to your work will be taken from your Curatorspace submission and cannot be changed after your work is accepted.

Please submit up to 3 images of your work, one image showing the finished piece of work, including the frame if the work is to be exhibited framed, and two further images to show detail if needed.

Work should be collected from the gallery during gallery opening hours from 20th October onwards. If you would like your work returning to you by post please be aware that we charge a small handling fee on top of the price of postage. If work is small enough you are welcome to include a stamped addressed envelope for return postage which will incur no further charge.

All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

Thank you and good luck!

Michael and Sharon (The Fronteer Team)
