Luz Expressions Art Magazine is an independent, artist-run print and online publication dedicated to showcasing and promoting the richness and diversity that art and visual and vocal expression have to offer; thus sparking conversation, provoking thought and reflection, and cultivating a culture of genuine, authentic support for artists, photographers, and poets worldwide. The world does not pay their bills on compliments and exposure; we aim to break the cycle where that is an acceptable form of currency for artists and poets. ***APPLICATION FEE: $20.00*** Submit payment at www.luzexpressions.com/payment-portal. Luz Expressions Art Magazine is hosting an Art Call for Luz Expressions Issue 1. Luz Expressions showcases the best new, emerging, and established artists in Canvas Art, Digital Art, Photography, and Poetry. We will be choosing a total of 50 entries to be featured in our first issue. Of these 50 selections, 10 selections will be chosen to be showcased at the Luz Expressions Launch and Art Exhibit. Of these 10, 6 entries will be chosen for full features: 2 artists, 2 photographers, and 2 poets. Of these 6, a cover feature, secondary feature, and tertiary feature regardless of medium will be selected. Feature prizes and benefits are listed below:

Results are announced 14 DAYS after the deadline to ensure equal attention and consideration is given to each submission. In some instances, this process can take longer, so don't be alarmed.

Results will be posted on Luz Expressions Social Media Platforms as well as on our homepage. We will also notify each person individually via email if you are selected. PLEASE BE SURE TO INPUT YOUR INFORMATION ACCURATELY.

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
Due to potential return shipping costs (if you are unable to attend the art exhibit), the art call is limited to citizens of the United States in the mediums of Paint or Canvas Art, Digital Art, Photography, and Poetry.
When is the deadline?
The deadline for this art call is August 31, 2019.
How many works can I submit?
You may submit 5 works. Please submit all 5 as your works will be considered as a whole for the art exhibit and show.
When is the delivery date?
If selected, you will be invited to the Luz Expressions Launch Event; which will entail an Art Exhibit and live show. If you choose to attend the art Exhibit (And we hope you do), you will need to deliver your art work to the art gallery on Friday, March 13, 2020. Location and Time will be delivered to you personally, if you are selected. If you are unable to attend, your art work should be shipped early enough to arrive by Thursday, March 12, 2020. Again, shipping address will be provided to you directly, if selected.
When do I need to collect my work?
You should collected your work from the Art Gallery on Sunday, March 15, 2020 if attending in person. If you are unable to attend, you must pay for the return shipping of your art work if it is not sold.
How much does it cost?
Submission fees are $20. Artists chosen for the exhibit must also cover their own shipping and return costs if they are not delivering their art in person.
Are there payments to artists?
There is no monetary payments to artists by Luz Expressions. Artists and poets chosen for features will receive a non-monetary gift from Luz Expressions in thanks and appreciation for their talents. Any monetary gain will come from any sales accrued during the art exhibit itself.
Is there a private view / opening?
Yes, there will be a public art viewing and show on March 14, 2020.
What are the exhibition opening hours?

What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
Feature artists will be displayed on the Luz Expressions Website, Social Media platforms, and advertised within Atlanta art communities.
Do I need to be present?
Your presence is preferred but not required.
Where will my venue be listed?
Venue details will be delivered privately to artists/poets chosen for features. Please make sure your contact information is correct before submitting.
How do you decide on proposals?
Proposals are decided upon by our head curator.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
If your proposal is chosen, you will be notified via email and/or phone call. If you are chosen to have your art displayed in the magazine, we will request an HQ delivery of the selected work we have chosen to include in the magazine.
If you are chosen for a feature spot in our magazine, you will be notified via email and/or phone call. We will request HQ deliveries of all 5 of your art works to include in the magazine, and will also schedule an in person, over the phone, or electronic interview (your preference) and photoshoot. You will also receive instructions and further detail on the Luz Expressions launch and Art Exhibit where your work will be showcased.
