508 Kings Road Gallery takes pride in giving opportunities to talented artists from across the world. We are passionate about bringing creativity to Chelsea and supporting both established and emerging artists. We have launched an Open Call to ALL artists who have been influenced by Picasso or in and around his era.

We invite you to submit your best works for a chance to display and sell your artwork in our prestige main showroom in the heart of Chelsea.

Pablo Picasso is one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century and has transformed and shaped styles like Modernism, Fauvism, Cubism, Abstraction & Surrealism. We are looking for creative, innovative and inspiring artworks that connect to Picasso and/or his era, this does not have to be a literal connection, but reasons should be justified in the description.

Prizes

• 12 winners to exhibit in a three-week group show
• 1 lucky artist will be awarded a one-year representation by the 508 Kings Road Gallery. This includes exposure on website and all social media platforms, 2 week group show, (special Guest to award winner)

Artwork Checklist

• Only painting, drawing, photography and sculpture accepted. Film & video not accepted
• Artwork should not exceed size of 150cm x 150cm
• All artwork must be original
• High resolution images only (2mb and above)
• Sizes and mediums of artwork to be provided
• Artist Bio to be provided
• Fee to be paid via our PayPal account at www.paypal.me/508kingsroad. Please reference your Full name. Payment should be in GBP

Dates

• Entries open: 15th March 2018
• Entry deadline: 26th June 2018 midnight
• Judging: 29th June 2018
• Exhibition date: 18th July – 8th Aug 2018
• Art work delivery dates: 10th July 2018 – 14th July 2018 - 10am – 6pm
• Art work collection dates: 9th Aug 2018 – 12th Aug 2018 - 10am – 6pm

Terms & Conditions 

• Each artist can submit up to 3 works
• There is a fee for each submission
• Please note we don’t charge VAT
• This payment is non-refundable
• Submissions will be reviewed after payment is received
• Payments are made via PayPal
• The submitted work must have been created within the last five years
• All work should be available for exclusive sale when submitted, throughout the submission process and during the gallery show
• No entries will be considered after 26th June 2018
• All personal information will be held by 508 Kings Road Gallery securely, will not be used without prior consent of the applicant and will not be passed onto any third parties
• Unfortunately, we cannot notify unsuccessful applicants
• Only 1 art work per artist will be selected for the gallery show

Successful Applicants

The exhibition will take place at 508 Kings Road Gallery, 508 Kings Road, Chelsea SW10 0LD and will be curated by the508 Kings Road Gallery team.

If you are a successful candidate, you are responsible for transporting artworks to and from 508 Kings Road Gallery.

Storage

The Gallery has limited storage so please collect artwork promptly within the dates stated above. Fail to do so may result in a storage fee of £50 per day.

We are able to store artworks which are clearly labeled for any shipping arrangements only during the designated dates stated above.

Prizes

12 artists will be awarded one place each in the open call exhibition.

1 artist will be awarded a 1-year representation by the 508 Kings Road Gallery. This will be an award given by a special guest. The award will be given with a prize and an agreement. The representation includes:

• A one year ‘Artist in Residence’ membership
• A group exhibition for two weeks with potential for a solo exhibition
• 20 submissions per year
• Involvement with interior design projects i.e. working with high end properties and showrooms
• Up to 5 legal documents reviewed by our finance team
• Exposure on our website and all social media platforms
• Digital invites for exhibitions 
• Storage facilities 
   

Use of images

If selected, the artist agrees to the use of images in association with the exhibition, including publicity, press, website and catalogue. 

Artists are encouraged to submit artwork which are available for sale. The 508 Kings Road Gallery will publish and promote the exhibition, artists are also encouraged to promote the exhibition themselves.

Sales

• The 508 Kings Road Gallery will deduct 35% commission from all sales
• All payments will be made through the 508 Kings Road Gallery
• On any purchase the 508 Kings Road Gallery will distribute payment accordingly within 2 weeks from the date 8th August 2018
  
  

Other

Artwork cannot be removed from the gallery before the exhibition closes. 

Any enquiries from clients during the exhibition will be managed by the 508 Kings Road Gallery staff, artists are kindly asked to pass on client details to a member of the gallery.
