We are now accepting submissions for the tenth BF Artist Film Festival premiering at The Lab F as part of the Art Licks Weekend 2019.

The BF Artist Film Festival is a critical platform for artists working with moving image. Open to national and international artists, the festival programme is selected via a recurring open call held 3 times annually. Since  it’s inception in 2016, the BF Artist Film Festival has screened the work of 140 artists, partnering with arts venues nationally and internationally to showcase current technical and thematic approaches to artists' moving image.

We welcome single channel film and video works, short narrative films, documentaries, experimental and essay films, animation and video collage. There are no restrictions on date or theme. Videos under 6 minutes are preferred but videos of up to 10 minutes will be considered.

The BF Artist Film Festival X will premiere at The Lab F on October 17th as part of the Art Licks Weekend 2019. The Lab F is a new cultural venue based in the heart of East London’s Canning Town. Positioned at the intersections of the club scene, digital culture, art, music and performance, The Lab F champions experimental arts within 7000 square feet of industrial multipurpose space, including an auditorium, state of the art AV rig, and high definition LED wall.

Art Licks launched in 2010 and has since grown to provide an essential platform and voice for the lesser-known and under-represented activities that form the grassroots of visual culture in London. Art Licks exists as a website, tours, printed magazine, learning programme, commissioning programme and annual London-wide festival: the Art Licks Weekend, all supporting the work of artists at a critical early stage in their careers, providing the situation to create new networks & audiences. For its seventh year, the Art Licks Weekend takes on the theme of Interdependence: considering how participating projects work within a network of friendship, exchange and shared dialogue.
