CALL FOR COLLABORATORS <> The very first "Cooltzine" needs you - visual interpretations of urban storytelling

Here at Cooltsalon we share stories of people and cities - the people in the cities and the cities through the eyes of these people. Expanding our network, we are now preparing the very first edition of our zine - the existance of which is solely depedent on your participation and amount of content submitted.

We see the "Cooltzine" as a conversation - not  only will it showcase your work in a widely distributable and accessible manner, but actually serve as a platform for discovery and ideas exchange, turning into a shared practice. Let's build a shared urban landscape and exchange our stories of city dwelling.

The "conversation" subject for this very first edition is as follows:

#1 Cooltzine Brief:

Neglected spaces of YOUR city where you find inspiration/beauty/quirks/sentiment.

Show us the nooks & crannies, the cracks in the pavement & the tiles of the roof that scream with the vibes of YOUR place - expressed through photography, mixed media, articles.

<> Submission deadline: 28 February 2018, 23:59 (GMT).

The zine will be presented in 3 ways:

1. online - following the submissions deadline, your work will become part of an open online platform, Cooltzine, making the first official digital edition of this collaborative zine project

2. 'paperless'/digital exhibition - to take place in London (dates & venue TBC), w/ limited print samples of the zine available on the opening night,

3. on-demand print editions of "Cooltzine" #1 - available internationally

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
Cooltzine is open to anyone interested in the idea of urban storytelling. We only ask that your submitted work is printable, for inclusion in the offline edition of "Cooltzine" #1
When is the deadline?
28 February 2018
How many works can I submit?
There is no limit of submissions but please bear in mind the following:

- Cooltzine online platform (stage 1) - all submitted responses will be uploaded
- Cooltzine "paperless" exhibition (stage 2) - up to 5 works (files) per person will be featured
- Cooltzine print edition (stage 3) - 1 (one) work per person will be featured

When submitting more than one work, please make sure to mark the ones you would like to see featured in the exhibition and in print.
When is the delivery date?
You don't need to deliver any physical assets - we ask for digital files of your work (whatever the chosen medium)
How much does it cost?
Participation in the creation of Cooltzine is on the basis of interest and collaboration, hence absolutely free of charge.
Are there payments to artists?
There is no commercial aspect to this project.
How do you decide on proposals?
As zines are based around uncensored self-expression, your work will be included as long as it responds directly to the brief: "Neglected spaces of your city where you find beauty/inspiration/sentiment"
Please note: We are looking for end works not proposals.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
By entering the Cooltzine #1 Open Call your work automatically becomes part of the first edition and, thus, will appear on Cooltzine's online platform (stage 1), will be part of the "paperless" exhibition (stage 2) and the print edition (stage 3, print on-demand)
What kind of proposals are you looking for?
The response can be in the form of drawing, photograph, text, collage, etc. as long as it's available for print version in the final stage. [Audio work is accepted for the exhibition stage only]
Cooltzine is about letting others see your cities through YOUR eyes (stepping into someone else's shoes), sharing your own urban experiences and neglected /hidden/ places that YOU think are worth mentioning. Imagine, "alternative city postcards".
