We are searching for a collection of sculptural works to exhibit within an atmospheric and derelict chapel. We want to treat this sacred space as a portal into the dark crevices of the psyche (probing at those things that nightmares are made of). We want works that confront fear, pain, and the spiritual in search of healing.

Submission Information:

We are looking for artists for the exhibition, 'The Dark', taking place on the 16th-17th of May 2018 at the Asylum Chapel London. Applicants are welcome to submit 2D-3D works (sculpture & painting) and performance. It needs to be made clear that in this show we are not displaying works in an ordinary fashion. We are not looking for 2D works/paintings that need to be wall based. We are looking for 2D works that can become activated in alternative ways, we want paintings to become more involved with the environment to become more sculptural. If you have any questions regarding this please email us. If you are selected for the exhibition there will be a participation fee of £100.00 for pieces that are 2D-3D and £25.00 for performance pieces.

During the day of the 16th May 2018 R-e-d-B-l-a-c-k-Curators will install all artworks for the exhibition. There will be a private view commencing on the evening of the 16th, of which all artists are encouraged to attend. On the 17th the exhibition will be open to the public for the day closing in the evening for de-installation. The selected participants are paying for a two day exhibition which includes renting the venue, the shows curation, promotion and administration procedures, liability insurance, private view beverages and a physical catalogue. 

R-e-d-B-l-a-c-k-Curation support artists to make sales as a result of our exhibitions but we do not become directly involved in transactional procedures and therefore require no commission. We will produce a price list for those who want to sell work with the aim of generating interest, if an artwork is to be sold we will bring both parties together (client and artist) who should conduct their business separate to the R-e-d-B-l-a-c-k-Curation event.

If you are selected for the exhibition you will need to complete our exhibition agreement/contract which states the perameters of our work and our obligation to you. We will also need you to complete a submission form for your artwork (s).
