For our upcoming Heavy Souls exhibition at Emergency gallery in Switzerland we have been asked to take along some texts to accompany the exhibition. Heavy Souls will feature artists from Queerology making work about their experiences of misogyny.

We’d like to take pieces of writing, particularly from Leeds and West Yorkshire based people, about misogyny and experiences of misogyny. These can be short essays, poems, articles, written accounts, diary entries, song lyrics and other forms of writing that you feel best fit a way to describe your experience. These will be printed and displayed in the gallery alongside the exhibition.

This is not limited to women, but is also open to trans men who have a history of experiencing misogyny as well as non-binary people whom misogyny is misdirected towards.

If texts can also be translated into French before sending so that there are two versions, a French and an English version, that would be wonderful but it is not a must.

Thank you, Queerology
