Soundstripes is an eclectic evening of short silent films, all live scored by a unique band of local improvising musicians. We are looking for artists' short films to screen for the second edition of Soundstripes.
The second edition of Soundstripes is taking place on 16 October 2018 at Northern Quarter, Huddersfield, (8pm - 10pm, doors at 6:30pm) https://www.facebook.com/events/292267734686541/
The screenings bring together early 20th century silent film with contemporary artists' films. Each film will be live scored by a band of improvising musicians featuring some of the best local talent.
The performance is “Pay what you decide” and all monies are then given directly to the artists.
Soundstripes is a co-organised by Jonny Best, Alice Bradshaw, Vanessa Haley & James Mabbett, established in Huddersfield in 2017.
Criteria: Films should be under 10 minutes duration and without a soundtrack (can be submitted with existing soundtrack to be muted). All types of film and animation will be considered from narrative to abstract, surreal to documentary.
