Artizan Collective is excited to present the English Riviera’s first open submission print, design and urban arts exhibition welcoming local, national and international artists to show work in Devon’s famed seaside resort. The exhibition will welcome printmakers of all mediums, traditional and digital graphic design, and urban artforms in a showcase which will combine works presented in their raw and polished forms. With a small showcase of gallery quality framed work, the dominant feature of the exhibition will be unframed works on paper displayed in a “clothes-line” hang across the space, with additional browsers displaying mounted works. This is a limited space opportunity and we will be guaranteeing submissions for the first 100 artists to join us in the space with 7 works selected from every full submission.

About the Venue

In 2018 Artizan Gallery secured a large unit on the lower level of Fleet Walk over the Summer for use as a “pop up” venue. This has since been taken on by Artizan Collective who relaunched the venue with Devon Open Studios in 2019 and a series of successful shows through the Autumn and Winter period. Now entering their first full year at the venue, a programme of showcases, open shows and partner exhibitions are planned at this high street venue.

The space is towards the harbour situated amongst other occupied high street premises including high end retailers and lifestyle brands. We’ll be running the space as a multi-purpose arts venue with access through 2020 hosting a variety of participatory and commercial exhibition opportunities as well as welcoming performances and workshops to be delivered in the space.

Artizan Collective Gallery, Unit 5, Fleet Walk, 74 Fleet St, Torquay TQ2 5EB.

About the Opportunity

This is our first themed exhibition at the venue which looks to offer audiences an exciting exploration of contemporary and traditional print and design media. With a mixture of finished framed works and raw unframed pieces the showcase will offer an intimate and personal experience of artists’ work and insight into this diverse creative area.

We’ll be transforming the space to focus on a playful “clothes-line” hang that will span the full length of the gallery with additional supporting framed work hung salon style. All artists will have the option to offer paid/unpaid workshops and demonstrations in the space and we hope to be able to offer an exciting programme of activity for audiences to participate in during the Easter period.
