Incubate Experimental Printmaking are looking for print works produced in the north of England as a response to GETNorth 2018 for an exhibition at Commercial House, Newcastle,  October the 10th. The purpose of the show is to provide a platform for artists to display works which reflect on and react to GETNorth as was promoted over the summer. Maybe GETNorth passed you by? Enchanted you? Annoyed you? This is your chance.

Exhibition: 10th - 12th October, 10am - 4pm

Art preview: 9th October from 6.00pm

Artwork for the show needn't be new, but should serve to address the subject and purpose of the exhibition - to comment, reflect, interrogate or even celebrate the Great Exhibition of the North 2018, through the medium of print. Proposed works should be any size but no larger than approx A1. Any print medium other than inkjet is acceptable. We hope artists can benefit not just from exposure, but also from sales.

Additionally, Incubate Experimental Printmaking will be offering some free workshop time and use of its equipment, in order to produce work for this exhibition. You will be invited to book time at the workshop on Tuesday the 25th, Wednesday the 26th and Thursday the 27th of September, between 10 am til 9pm each day. Incubate offers screenprint, monoprint, drypoint etching, cyanotype, relief and collagraph facilities. There will be some materials available for purchase. You will also be welcome to bring your own materials, such as paper, ink etc. Printmaker and technician Nick Christie will be on hand to assist and facilitate.

The aim is to offer an opportunity to printmakers working in the North East to make work, as well as to encourage discussion and collaboration around the subject. Due to space and equipment limitations, access will be on a first come, first served basis. Making work at Incubate is completely optional and not mandatory. Contact nick@incubateprintmaking.com for more info.

The show will take place at Experimental Printmaking, Commercial Union House Wed 10th October 2018 with a preview on Tues 9th October 6.00pm
