Each video will be screened for a limited time, in a sacred italian theca of 19th century theca and shown to the public by booking, in the week from 7 to 13 of August 2017. After the video selection will be published a calendar with the projection programming. The call is open to all artists and not without age limits, nationality or other qualifcations. "More and more often the spaces around us have to deal with individualism, with the private aspects of existence, rapid crossing, consumption of goods. Around us, an entropy of closed areas and enclaves protected, populated by mixedophobic individuals, where the experience of coexistence is continuously jammed without foreseeing a deep exchange of practices, relationships and perceptions with others, or mix of identities. There is a principle of continuity between the spaces, the inner ones and the outer ones, which is continually betrayed by a tendency to superfcial and hasty confrontation from which can be the risk to forget the art of negotiating shared meanings.

Art, today more than ever, can be found everywhere, even in the areas of interdiction typical of our contemporaneity. Through its devices it is able to activate dialogues and confrontations where the processes, the sharing and the discovery of the other by themselves emphasize the importance of meeting and imagining together, letting small vision reciprocally nourishing rise at the border between the space of the ego and the space of us, the public, the private, the donated, the forbidden."

Progetto Toppunt is a project born from the desire to realize micro-visions in order to create opportunities for interaction, exchange and relationship between the artists and not [only].

The project is a reality born in 2015, which over time has tested aesthetic, projectual and intuitive variations while maintaining whole and constant the refection about space / place understood as an existential and of relationship space. In all the various editions of the project (given by the different mode of modulate and living the space / place), artists were presented, asking them to think of a work for space. In the frst edition the space was a wooden structure that had no walls, in the second a sacred italian theca of the late nineteenth century and in the third edition (which will open at the end of the summer) the space / place will lose its physicality, its tangibility , to move on the virtual level.

Why TOPPUNT? The term borrowed from the Dutch, it means in its most simple translation "moment of climax", therefore, that means not only putting the specifc work on display in its peak of maximum, but also watching the micro-vision itself as the moment of maximum level of sharing . Hence, TOPPUNT becomes not a conclusive acme, but the point of maximum opening. The project was created by Giulia Gazza and Francesco Romanelli, both visual artists. Their work begins from the empirical observation of the nature, with ethical and caring behaviour to its unfolding. This project also is born from an environmental assessment (house-space inside / outside): the creation of an architectural space that becomes an existential shared space.

From 2017 PROGETTO TOPPUNT is in the map of the THE INDIPENDENT* (project by MAXXI) the National Museum of the Arts of the 21st century.

* “The Independent is a research project focused on identifying and promoting independent spaces and thinking. We work to expand and challenge the current limits of museum institutions to stimulate and elaborate different ways to act in the contemporary world. INDEPENDENT explores the contents of independent and innovative realities, monitors the growth of autonomous spaces, and applies a strategy of viral knowledge, in which each independent group has its virtual space where spread its activities. The aim is to trace a growing mapping of all the autonomous forms and the most daring and free independent realities in the world. We want to monitor the life of the independent groups and their evolution and offer them a common territory of exchange."
