Deadline: 27/08/2018Venue: Artist House 45 | City: Beeston, Leeds | East Street Arts
Paid opportunity
Over the next few months, East Street Arts are looking to create a portrait of Beeston in Leeds and specifically, the street where its live/work artist residency, Artists House 45, is situated through a number of projects.
As part of this, we would like to invite a writer to be in residence at the house from mid-September to mid-December 2018, to capture a narrative about these projects, as well as the stories of the street and the area more generally.
Current planned projects include a portraiture studio, a photographer and filmmaker working with local businesses and an artist duo creating mini-street paintings.
We are looking for a writer who:
- can live in the house for the duration of the residency
- is interested in working with, and in response to, artistic projects happening in the house, and
-
has an interest in ideas of home and community.
We expect the writer in residence to spend a minimum of two days per week on the project and throughout their time in the house, create an ongoing narrative suitable for external audiences.
