Report this?Working with a range of materials I develop surfaces through sensory expressions, that evolve into portraits and landscapes. These become dynamic and intimate works that emerge from gestural mark making and experimentation with pigments and grounds. Self-portraits begin with a process of tactile observation of my own face. Report this?My visual arts practice derives from a sense of place and community anchored in politics and experiences of a working-class background. Printing offers me the materiality and medium to experiment with images of strength and violence, representing tactile anger in keeping with present times. I make woodcuts, lino and wood engraving, as well as the traditional medium of etching and aquatint.
