I work in glass and painting. My glasswork covers all forms of kiln fired glass, fused, cast, slumped and any other that can be fired in my kiln. With my paintings I have moved through all mediums, and now work mainly in oil and cold wax medium. My inspiration comes from nature, with sketching and photography my main forms of observing what might be, when working with these different mediums
I have 2 studios, one at home where I work on glass and one within an artists studio in the town for my paintings.
I have always painted but in the late 1990's I did a Contemporary Craft degree that took my art along a different route, and also opened up my ways of painting. Combining different mediums took me from perspex to glass from there i have never looked back.
Most of my glasswork has been self taught, using basic skills learned along the way and experimenting on my own to create what I like.
The passion to create is always there and my sketchbooks are always with me on my journey.
