    Since my training at Edinburgh College of Art I have been inspired by nature. My mission explores the emotional symbolism of my subject matter and seeks to distil the image to enhance this. I am a slow meditative painter. This process puts me in touch with the healing spirit I inherited from the medics in my family. I want to help people find an inner sense of peace and connection with nature.

    I am a sculptor whose work investigates identity and the way we portray this in the world through the forms of our clothing and our architecture. Both are seen as metaphors for the body and for human experience. I have been investigating this relationship for 20 years. I work mainly for exhibition or in residency and have a studio in my local town of Stourbridge, in the West Midlands.

Working in rich layers of oil paint, she draws on film, media, and her own imagery to create characters who feel both familiar and mysterious. My main focus within my art practice is to create sculptural artworks by recreating and repurposing items and materials that I collect, source and find.
