    I am a painter who has moved into three dimensions. My painting is very classical in technique, using glazes to achieve tones and contrasts. The work is abstract in concept but in retrospect I find it grows out of my immediate and long term visual experiences.

    Through my work I want to explore the mythological representation of women and how stories have been influenced and reengineered by patriarchy. How women have been written out of folklore and how stories have been changed to fit in with this ideology.

    I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.     Working with ink pens and watercolour pencils on paper. When creating, I love to play with little shapes, lines and patterns I see in my surroundings. I pickup elements that I see in nature, and back in the studio, I let my ink loose on it. I say it like that, because what I exactly will make is never clear before I start, the ink and its whimsical way of flowing always add surprise.

    My main area of work is traditional printmaking and I have been exhibited in 5 out of the 6 Royal Academies of Arts in the UK and Ireland. I also work in the area of drawing, watercolour, and photography. Many of my works are based on a science fiction setting of my own with occult, retro, and archaic elements, but I also work based on real life.
