    My name is Harriet Pybus and iv recently spent a lot of time reflecting back on photographs that I have taken over the years.     Henny Burnett is a mixed media installation artist who lives and works in Bristol. She attended Byam Shaw School of Art in London, Fiberworks in Berkeley, California and Edinburgh College of Art. Central to Burnett’s practice is research and public engagement; she has worked on many projects that have involved museum collections, archives and histories.

    I am a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, digital media, video and print. Her practice explores feminist themes, domestic labour and materiality. She reimagines household tools as metaphors for resilience and ritual. He is driven by transformation and reinvention, guided by the recurring simple question, “What else could it be?” where a single image can trigger a chain of works that migrate between mediums through repetition, revision and recontextualisation.

    Though rooted in printmaking, my MA in Fine Art (UAL) encouraged me to expand my practice to include installation and assemblage. I use a range of media including traditional (e.g. print, ceramics) and newer technologies (e.g. laser cut) which I combine to stretch possibilities. My work reflects the range of human experience, with dementia and the working poor among my subjects.

    With an eye for intricate detail and curiosity for pre-owned items, my work focuses on how an object evokes personal comfort through recognition and familiarity. Inspired by everyday objects that often go unnoticed, from matchsticks to hook-and eye fastenings, I create handcrafted jewellery and personal possessions, some of which are wearable and others merely companions to our everyday lives.
