    Since my training at Edinburgh College of Art I have been inspired by nature. My mission explores the emotional symbolism of my subject matter and seeks to distil the image to enhance this. I am a slow meditative painter. This process puts me in touch with the healing spirit I inherited from the medics in my family. I want to help people find an inner sense of peace and connection with nature.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects.     I'm a printmaker exploring how people shape and connect with the land. My work invites reflection on belonging, history, and care for the natural world. Through walking and sketching on location I immerse myself in experiencing the landscape.     Kate Jennings is a Leeds-based multidisciplinary artist with a Master’s in Fine Art. Rooted in expression, her practice explores emotion as a form of release and reflection. Initially focused on screen printing and protest, her work shifted after a personal loss in 2023. She now creates instinctively, using art as a way to let go while maintaining a commitment to community engagement.

    Born 1957 and raised by artist parents, I've been immersed in creativity all my life. I completed an AA in art before emigrating to London, settling, working as a professional seamstress, and having 2 boys 18 years apart (1983, 2001). Acquired a BA in Interior Architecture in 2000. My art and craft has emerged and evolved in various forms and waves across the 40+ years I've lived here.

    My work touches on themes of belonging, mythology, memory, identity and the female gaze. In my creative practice, I enjoy exploring the symbolism behind water, waterlilies, lotus flowers, landscapes and the female body. I believe that my mixed heritage has been a rich source of material to work with, as I experiment with oil paint and mixed media on canvas.
