    I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism. I have a strong exhibition catalogue over 20 shows in 2025.

    My name is Gemma Yates and I'm a painter from the UK. I love to paint natural forms such as flowers, trees, figures and thriving landscapes.     Working with salvaged ecclesiastical glass, I use historical fragments to construct new paradigms of image‑making. Informed by early Renaissance craft, my practice reconfigures light, fracture and inherited forms for contemporary meaning.

    I am a textile artist using machine embroidery as my main medium. I work in my studio in Sheffield called 'Stitched Up and Fleeced'. I trained at Bolton Art College Foundation Course 1971-2 , Loughborough College of Art and Design Degree in Stitched Textiles 1975, PGCE Art and Design at Leicester 1976, Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen since 1996 and awarded a Fellowship in 2013.

    I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band.     I am a fine art photographer with a love for photography since getting my first camera as a teenager. Initially working as a landscape architect for 40 years till 2015 I decided to change direction to pursue my passion for b+w fine-art landscape photography using both 35mm and medium formats.     I constantly take photos and use them as source material to make videos and animations and prints and paint. I often see beauty in junk and the forgotten and the in-between. Play and humour and collaboration are important in my work as in my life. I am a quiet environmentalist and try to do my bit for the planet. 
I live with my son, my partner, sometimes his daughter and our dog in London.
