I am a Wildlife and Landscape visual Artist from Doncaster working from my rurally situated Studio I paint predominately using my preferred mediums of Acrylic and watercolour paint. My paintings often include elements of neo impressionism and I work with a vibrant colour palette.
It is colour which creatively seduces me, how they harmonise and contrast is captivating. I paint with multiple layers of colour glazes from a minimal pallet to express form in a fluid manor from my own observations. I want to depict the beauty within nature and to honour it with sumptuous colours. Nature, wildlife and the natural world around me is my constant muse. My current focus is engaged towards that of endangered species and the destructive effects of climate change and human activity threatening bio-diversity and the breakdown of natural connections. I hope my artwork raises some awareness of this crisis situation.
I graduated in 2002 with a Fine Art Degree with honours from Huddersfield University. After a 15 year career as a professional photographer and raising my children I re-established my painting career in 2017. My paintings have since been exhibited in independent and municipal Galleries and Museums across the UK. Most recently at The Ferens Gallery in Hull and I Have displayed 4 Solo show exhibitions in Local independent Galleries this year. My achievements also include appearing as a wildcard contestant on SKY ARTS Landscape Artist of the year in 2019, in 2021 my work was published in PAINT Magazine and I was also interviewed as a featured artist for Loxley Arts Blog.
