I am an Abstract Expressionist artist and I paint what cannot be seen but what comes from my subconscious pouring out all my feelings and emotions onto the canvas. I leave everything on the canvas. I have been painting for over 40years
Before commencing my work I endeavour to clear my mind of all thoughts and ideas not wishing to pre-empt my painting in any way. I allow myself to paint in total freedom without any references of any kind, I never know what I am about to paint or what the finished work will look like. It’s a journey into the depths of my subconscious and I want the work to be spontaneous and fresh. I employ all of my emotions and feelings leaving nothing back. All I would say is that I am influenced by the New York School of the 1950’s and 60’s aside from that my paintings are entirely my own creations.
