I have always had a great love of art, practicing my techniques for most of my life. I am very interested in how I can combine analogue and digital mediums to create works that explore colour, depth, texture, and transparency. I also practice photography and use this within my work.

My practice explores the relationship between traditional and digital mediums, particularly paint and photography. I work with acetate and Perspex to see how they interact on a light source. Colour and the environment are also key aspects of the work. Some works are created through a digital platform to create prints that I aim to be emotive and intriguing. I have always been fascinated by colour and the way that it interacts with the environment around it. Colour has the power to change how we feel. It can calm us, make us feel sad and inspire us. It can create positive or negative perceptions to the environment around us. It can make objects look heavier or lighter.

The work is immersive in nature, influencing the viewer in a visual installation environment, enveloping the viewer in a world of intense, saturated colours. I aim for the work to be interpreted in many different ways including emotionally and physically. I work around the themes of transparency, digital manipulation, light, gesture, repetition, colour, and illusion. My practice is influenced by the artist’s Kerstin Bratsch and Hester van Dapperens use of transparent mediums and how they are layered together to create a visually complex image.
