A recent MA Glass graduate from UCA Farnham I am just setting up my practice in a shared studio in Hampshire. I specialize in casting waste glass. I have spent my time at university extensively testing and experimenting with the unpredictable medium of bottle glass.

Using classical crafting skills with innovative methods to explore the use of waste glass in art, I have developed my own unique material language which has evolved during the making process. The freedom of my approach to process has been inspired by contemporary craftspeople and material scientists who explore the possibilities of working with waste materials. A favourite location on the Jurassic coast, studded with fossils and vestiges of man’s existence, inspired me to make my own unique treasures. Intentionally mimicking naturally formed geodes and nodules my pieces are ambiguous and misleading, with subtle suggestions of the truth behind their material source. The use of discarded glass was an essential decision, formed by reason, emotion and necessity. My intention was to transform mundane items into extraordinary objects that appear to exist somewhere between the natural and the man made. Delicate and beautiful curiosities that are designed to provoke conversation and change.
