Following my graduation from a Fine Art Degree in 1993, I qualified as an art teacher, teaching art for over twenty-five years in various settings, including mainstream schools and referral units for children excluded from school. My understanding of art and how students can be encouraged to create has enlightened, inspired and enriched my understanding of the practice and process of making art.

Four years ago I decided to take a break from teaching to pursue my own practice as an artist and have been exploring materials and learning new techniques which help to convert my ideas into work. I have returned to many of the ideas I began as a student studying Fine Art graduate and feel I am reaching conclusions I never had the chance to solve before now.
