AIR Gallery are inviting artists to enter the AIR Open 2017. There are no restrictions on the type of work that can be entered, all we ask is that work must be contemporary and have stimulating and relevant themes.

AIR Gallery are inviting artists to enter the AIR Open 2017 at our brand new gallery space in Trafford. This exhibition is open to artists across the globe and aims to provide an opportunity for emerging and early career artists to showcase their talents.

We are seeking variety within our submissions. There are no restrictions on the type of work that can be entered, all we ask is that work must be contemporary and have stimulating and relevant themes. Artists can enter a maximum of three works for consideration at the cost of £5 per work. Prizes will be awarded to works of outstanding merit.

The exhibition will run from the 10th August - 30th September 2017, with a launch night on the evening of Thursday 10th August and an awards ceremony on the evening of Saturday 30th September.

Deadline for submission is 20th July.

When do I need to collect my work?
From 8pm 30th September- 29th October. during the gallery's opening hours.
How much does it cost?
£5 per piece.
Are there payments to artists?
No, but there are cash prizes and art vouchers to be won, including a 4 week solo exhibition in 2018.
Is there a private view / opening?
Yes, on Thursday 10th August 6pm-9pm.
What are the exhibition opening hours?
Tues-Fri 11am-6pm and Sat 10am-4pm.
Does the location have disabled access?
Yes
What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
All artists will be tweeted via social media and listed on our website and newsletters.
Do I need to be present?
Only during the launch night and awards evening.
Where will my work be shown?
At AIR Gallery, a new contemporary art space just outside of Altrincham town centre on Grosvenor Road.
How do you decide on the work?
All works will be put before our selection panel of artists and curators who will make a decision based on one of the following: technical skill, contemporary and stimulating themes, experimental nature and emotional impact.
What happens if my work is chosen?
If your work is chosen, you will be contacted and sent additional details of when and where to deliver your work for exhibition.
I am a video artist, can I enter?
You can, however as a new organisation with no funding we do not have equipment at this time to show video art. Artists who enter video work may be required to provide their own equipment.
Do you only take 2D work?
No we accept 3D submissions including sculpture, installation and site specific work. Artwork in any medium can be entered.
