ARTbound returns to The Town Hall, Hebden Bridge to host a new exhibition, that will highlight how artists portray animals in our modern world, from painting to photography to illustration.

Artists have been painting animals for millennia; evidence of this can be found in the discoveries of the very first cave paintings! Our continued relationship with animals is important and keeps us connected with nature. Showcasing this connection with nature in our homes and businesses is essential for recognition, inner peace and balance, especially in our fast-paced modern lives.

This contemporary art exhibition will focus on how artists portray animals in our modern world, from visually pleasing abstractions to more traditional environments. We welcome all forms of wall art, from painted canvas to fine art photography!

Are you a lover of animals, do you want to encourage visitors to showcase your animal themed art in their homes and businesses? Join us and let’s show our animal appreciation in the wonderful foyer and Café area of The Town Hall, Hebden Bridge; A venue which never fails to host a successful exhibition.

Acceptance fee per exhibitor:

£15 for ARTbound members

£20 for non-members

Please note - the acceptance fee may increase if your chosen artwork is over 50cm or 20inch in length. (Please enquire about large submissions prior to submitting.)

Sales: Work will be for sale and this venue takes 25% commission from any sale

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
We welcome all forms of wall art, from painted canvas to fine art photography. We are limited to wall submissions only. No space for sculpture.
When is the deadline?
Thursday 18th January 2018
How many works can I submit?
If your work is quite small, you're welcome to submit more than one.

If your work is approx 50cm or 20inch max in length, please submit only one.

Please note: the acceptance fee may increase if your chosen artwork is over 50cm or 20inch in length. (Please enquire if your work is large before submitting)
When is the delivery date?
On or slightly before 9am, Monday 5 February 2018 (we will be hanging on the morning of Mon 5th Feb)
When do I need to collect my work?
On or slightly after, Monday 5 March 2018
How much does it cost?
Acceptance fee per exhibitor:
£15 for ARTbound members
£20 for non-members

(the acceptance fee may increase if artists wish to display artwork over approx 50cm or 20inch in length)
Is there a private view / opening?
No opening event for this exhibition as the venue is open to the public 6 days a week.
What are the exhibition opening hours?
Mon to Fri 9am – 5pm | Sat 10am – 3pm | Sun Closed
Does the location have disabled access?
Yes
What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
Internet promotion, social media, local newspapers & magazines, flyer and poster distribution. Upon request
artists can obtain flyers to pass around to family and friends.
Do I need to be present?
Only for drop off and collection
How do you decide on proposals?
We decide on proposed submissions in accordance: to the size of the venue; the saleability of the submissions in accordance of the venue location and how each piece of artwork responds to the next. This process is conducted throughout the call out and finalised shortly after the deadline.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
We will contact you shortly after the deadline to let you know whether or not you have been chosen.
What kind of proposals are you looking for?
We are looking for how artists portray animals in our modern world, from visually pleasing abstractions to more traditional environments. If you love animals, we want to see this passion shine through your artwork!
Does the venue take any sales commission?
Work will be for sale, unless stated otherwise and this venue takes 25% commission from any sale
Insurance and postage
Exhibitors are responsible to ensure their own art works are insured for the appropriate event and insured during transit. Exhibitors are responsible for their own postage costs and courier
options during delivery and collection.
